How occupational learning works
Three kinds of module
Knowledge modules
The theory behind the occupation, assessed through formative work.
Practical skills modules
Hands-on tasks practised and assessed in a learning environment.
Work experience modules
Supervised work in a real workplace, recorded in a logbook.
Occupational qualifications end with an external integrated summative assessment set by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QCTO). Completing coursework or paying fees does not by itself award a qualification.
